Digital Signage System and Displays at Hot & In Steam Station Outdoor LED Wall ircle K is one of the most popular international chains providing convenience stores with 24 hour operations in Hong Kong since 1985. Apart from basic daily consumables, the stores also offer exclusive and quick meal services under the private label of Hot & In, and various hot snacks from the steam station. In a digital age, using technology to provide added value to consumers is an effective way to compete with others. Circle K realized the limitations of updating paper-based food menus, so they would like to bring in digitized signage system to control menu updates instead. Vega has the honor to participate in this project to help deploy powerful signage system for their needs. 1) Centralized Control Circle K is committed to expanding the chain’s hot snacks business, one of the major revenue sources of the company. In the past, food menus in different stores were manually updated by staff. With Cloud-based digital signage platform, signage content can now be centralized and controlled remotely by the client, so that messages and food items from every store can be united and updated in real time. 2) Dynamic Messages 4) Heat and Humidity Resistance Circle K decided to replace the traditional paper menus with our digital signage solution to let customers go through clear and detailed menus with colorful food photos. Moving messages can always attract the attention of customers. Digital signage can broadcast not only text contents but also attractive images, animations, video, live streaming and much more, to arouse better visual simulation for customers. 3) Message Flexibility Before the renovation, Circle K had been Food menus of Hot & In Steam Station in Circle K are usually placed on top of the walls to make sure that customers can clearly notice. However, requisite cables and signage panels will be easily damaged by the heat or steam. To avoid this, Vega adopted the heat and humidity-resistant solution to make sure the signage can function well in any occasion. 5) Automatic Updates To cope with the frequent change of customers’ demands, working staffs are always required to update food menus the walls. Besides, the signage is just “plug-and-play” without extra setup process, which is easy for the staff to use. Conclusion The application of this cloud-based digital signage solution has enabled Circle K to centralize promotional messages and broadcast in a humid environment. They can therefore capture every revenue opportunity easily by meeting customers’ changing demands. Project details using paper-based food menus to show their food options but they were only restricted to display limited choices or messages. Moreover, owing to the limited manpower, menu choices cannot be separated according to different dining schedules. The ﬁxed size of printed paper would also signiﬁcantly limit the creativeness of promotional messages. Digital signage allows different forms of messages insertion, manually while the content revisions of printed materials are less ﬂexible and time consuming.
